Hyatt Lake has been stocked with legal-sized and trophy-sized rainbow trout, and fishing for these stocked trout has been good. This past weekend, anglers were catching good numbers of the trophy-sized trout from the bank near the BLM campground. Plus, the lake will be stocked with another 5,000 legal-sized rainbow trout this week. Fishing for largemouth bass has been slow, but should improve with the warm weather forecast for this week. The reservoir is 74 percent full, and the BLM campgrounds and boat ramps are now open.
There will be a Free Fishing Weekend event on Saturday, June 4, at the Hyatt Lake Campground. ODFW’s Hunter Education Program will offer free breakfast from 7 AM to 11 AM, and the BLM and U.S. Forest Service will have rods, tackle, and bait available for use between 9 AM and 2 PM.
