The Kilchis is fishing fair to good. We are at the peak of the fall Chinook run, so it’s really just a matter of hitting the right conditions. North Coast rivers had a good Halloween rain storm so the Kilchis should be a good bet for the next several days. The logging bridge (Kilchis Forest Rd.) to Hwy. 101 was the preferred drift as usual, but there should be fish throughout the system. All of the usual techniques, such as bobber fishing, divers and bait, and back bouncing should be effective.
Chum salmon are showing up in the Kilchis and Miami Rivers, and are open for catch-and-release-only angling through Nov. 15.
