The Kilchis is fishing fair to good for fall Chinook. We are at the peak of the run, so it’s really just a matter of hitting the right conditions. North Coast rivers jumped up about a foot and a half Sunday night. They are still on the way up and are predicted to peak early Wednesday morning. This will probably slow things down some, but they should be back in shape by the weekend. The Kilchis is usually one of the first rivers back in shape and may fish before the weekend. All of the usual techniques, such as bobber fishing, divers and bait, and back bouncing should be effective.
Anglers are reminded that the last day for catch-and-release chum fishing is Tuesday, Nov. 15.
