As of this writing, the rain was falling hard, and the North Coast Rivers were on the way up and looking like they would probably blow out by Tuesday morning. The Wilson should be back in shape by mid to late in the week, and good through the weekend. Effort was light last week due to the poor weather, but a few fish were caught, and there should be some early hatchery fish in the River. In addition, we received are first wild broodstock last Friday, so things should just continue to improve. All the usual techniques such as side drifting, float fishing, and pulling plugs or divers and bait, should be effective.
Most North Coast rivers are about done for fall Chinook. However, the Wilson is known for having some later fish, and it’s not uncommon to catch bright salmon well into December.
