Enjoy fishing with the family at an event this Sunday, May 7 at Reinhart Park Pond in Grants Pass from 9 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The pond is stocked with rainbow trout, including 100 trout in the 12 to 14-inch range.
Rods, reels, tackle and bait are provide by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to make learning how to catch fish as fun and easy as possible. Crater Bass Club volunteers and ODFW staff can help with everything from baiting and casting a rod to catching and cleaning fish.
Kids 11 and younger can fish for free while those 12 to 17 and adults need an Oregon angling license to fish. A Youth License for 12 to 17-year-olds costs just $10 and is good for hunting, fishing, and shell-fishing. Licenses are not for sale at this event. All State fishing regulations continue to apply.
A feature of the ODFW Outdoors Program, this free fishing event is designed to introduce kids and their families to fishing. ODFW partners with the Crater Bass Club to host the event.
