Trask River Fishing Report

Fishing was slow on the Trask last weekend, with only a few fish caught. It was getting a little low and clear last weekend, but is still fishable and with snow melt coming out of the coast range, it should remain so for the rest of the week. This is mostly a wild fish river, although some hatchery strays are caught. Float fishing jigs, beads, or bait, drift fishing, nymphing, and swinging flies or spinners are all good techniques.

Anglers are reminded that the North and South Forks of the Trask close to steelhead fishing on April 1, to protect spawning wild steelhead and out migrating juveniles; so this Saturday is the last day for winter steelhead on forks. The mainstem remains open.
