Effort is down with declining reservoir levels. Anglers are still catching trout, however, and fishing for bass is good. Trout to 15-inches were caught over Labor Day weekend at Howard still-fishing with PowerBait.
Boat access is now limited to the resort boat ramp. While the marina and restaurant are now closed for the season, the resort campround will remain open for the time being, so the boat ramp will remain accessible. Only small boats will be able to successfully launch.
Bank anglers can do well walking to the point near the dam to fish, or fishing the now narrow channel near Fawn Island. During the drought in 2013-2015, the color yellow was very productive for lures and bait in the area near Fawn Island.
