Fall Chinook have been present in Nehalem bay for quite some time and should continue to be through the month. Fishing on the Nehalem has been slow. With what appears to be a low return year, fishing will likely be challenging this season. Trolling herring or spinners in the bay is generally the most productive.

Coho salmon are in the Nehalem now and will be through October. Anglers are reminded that there is NO RETENTION of wild coho in the Nehalem River this year; only adipose fin clipped coho may be retained.

Sea run cutthroat are present in good numbers on the North Coast this year, and are throughout the basin.
