Yesterdays dry fly action was again really impressive after the cold snap earlier in the week. All it took was another warm day to get the hatches rolling well and the fish looking up.
BWO’s are the prime hatch, but for the next month look for yellowish-tan Cinygmula mayflies on the menu as well.
October Caddis and some smaller caddis are hatching most afternoons.

The best dry action is noon to 3’ish, but if the day is warm enough look for fish to rise to about 5 or so on caddis and some #18 rusty or olive spinners.

Nymphing is great, both Euro and Western Indicator styles. This time of year, Golden Stones and Oct Caddis Pupa are great, along with Eggs.
Blue Prince Nymphs are a very good winter nymph on the Met. Blue shows up in the winter light spectrum well and is a good attractor nymph from now through Spring.
Zebra Midges, Perdigons, Jigs, PT’s, CDC Guide Hares Ears and Lightning Bugs are also favorites year round.

Bull Trout action is good on big streamers, mostly fished on a sink tip. Also try dead drifting big streamers under the Large CORQ indicator for good success.
