The Upper Kern hasn’t been stocked in two months and there seems to be more native fish showing then planters. In the 20 mile stretch anglers have been scoring fish with artificials, minijigs, worms, crickets, and salmon eggs. In the Lower Kern the Smallmouth Bass bite continues to be solid with Double Tail grubs on finesse jig heads and Roostertails. Catfish are being caught with worms, chicken liver and cutbait. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River at Kernville was flowing at 86 CFS and the Lower Kern River was flowing at 134 CFS.
