Fall Chinook fishing continues to be slow on the Yaquina as most of the fish have moved up out of the estuary and up into the river to spawn. The Yaquina and Big Elk have very little bank access and most of the fish have moved up beyond the deadlines headed for the spawning grounds.
***Reminder*** There is no wild coho retention in the Yaquina for the 2021 season. Please practice good catch-and-release for wild coho, keep them in the water and release immediately.
Winter steelhead will start to show up in the Yaquina basin in December and peak from January through March.
Trout fishing in streams closed on Oct. 31.
