Winter steelhead fishing is off to a great start on the Alsea. Both bank and boat anglers were doing very well throughout the river before the big rain event hit on Sunday/Monday. The river is now high and blown out for most of the week but will fish well again this weekend and into next week. The best bank fishing is on the popular NF Alsea section between the town of Alsea and the hatchery.
***Reminder*** There is no wild coho retention in the Alsea for the 2021 season. Please practice good catch-and-release for wild coho, keep them in the water and release immediately.
Trout fishing in streams will reopen May 22, 2022.
