Hunters, please report banded turkeys

ODFW is asking hunters and members of the public that encounter a banded turkey to report the band number to the nearest ODFW office or by using the online form.

Get ready for spring turkey

The spring turkey hunting season opens this Friday (April 15) and continues through May 31. To help plan for the upcoming season, ODFW offers a variety of turkey hunting information. And that’s not counting these 10 tips for taking toms.

Find accessible fishing

Many of Oregon’s popular fishing locations are accessible to anglers with disabilities. The Disabled angler access map pinpoints these locations and describes the conditions you’ll find there.

Family fishing events return

After a two-year hiatus, we are able to offer a handful of events in 2022. They’re listed on the Take the family fishing page. If these dates and locations don't work for you, we've pulled together everything you'll need to plan your own DIY  fishing adventure on that same page.

Find big game statistics

If you’re planning your controlled hunt applications, you’ll want to consider population, harvest and point summary reports from previous years. You can find links to all this data in one convenient spot.

Best bets for weekend fishing

  • The best fishing this weekend will be for stocked trout. We’ve put out a TON of fish especially in lower elevation waterbodies of the NW, SW and Willamette zones, and small community ponds on the eastside. Check the zone reports for details.
  • Though the winter steelhead season is winding down in many areas, hard-core chrome anglers can still find fish on the North Coast in the Nestucca and Wilson rivers, and further south in the upper and middle Rogue.
  • The first SUMMER steelhead of the season have been caught in the Clackamas and Sandy rivers. Bet they were surprised by the recent snow!
  • With the Columbia spring Chinook season closed, salmon anglers should shift their focus to other rivers like the Willamette, Umpqua, Sandy and Clackamas where early fish are just arriving.
  • This is a good time of year to target surfperch as they school up near shore for spawning.
