Cutthroat trout are scattered throughout the river. This is the time of year when cutthroat are feeding on juvenile steelhead and Chinook as they migrate downstream. Small spinners and flies tend to work well. Early morning or late evening is the best time to catch larger cutthroat as they move out of deeper water and cover to feed. Public access is limited in the lower river.
