Fall Chinook is open on the Alsea, though it's still a bit early in the season. Your best bet will still be lower in the system in the bay and into tidewater, before fish start moving higher into the system to spawn.
We've heard of a few fish being caught in the bay and out towards the jaws this week. Mostly big fish being caught! We have gotten a few additional reports of some nice-size chrome bright fish moving into the basin and being caught in the lower system.
Fishing for wild coho will also open this Friday in the Alsea Basin on Friday Sept. 15, 2023. Check out the regulations before you head out this weekend!

Foster Reservoir: Scheduled to be stocked a few more times this fall
Green Peter Reservoir: The water level has dropped below the toe-slope of Thistle Creek boat ramp
Henry Hagg Lake: As fall approaches, bass become more active
Leaburg Lake: Beginning Nov. 1, anglers may only use lures and artificial flie
Middle Fork of the Williamette: The Chinook fishery will has pretty much wound down
North Fork Reservoir: Future stockings will continue to be weather dependent
Sandy River: Coho are being caught in the lower river
