Fishing forecast (December through May): This high-elevation waterbody is a great location for ice fishing for some trout. Anglers should use extreme caution and be aware of best practices for ice safety. Winter access is not maintained to the parking lot and restroom. Ice often melts off in late May. As the snow melts and the reservoir fills, you can expect the water to be murky or muddy.
