Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife reports that Vance Creek Pond #1 will open for spring break

Action: Open Vance Creek Pond #1 to fishing by juveniles, seniors (over 70 years old) and anglers with a disability who possess a designated harvester companion card.
Effective Dates: March 30 through April 7, 2013
Species Affected: Trout and other game fish.
Location: Vance Creek Pond #1, Grays Harbor County.
Reasons for Action: The opener will allow additional fishing opportunity for juveniles, seniors, and anglers with a disability who possess a designated harvester companion card on Vance Creek Pond #1 (Bowers Lake) during local school districts' spring break. Vance Creek Pond # 1 is an "Opening Day" lake regulated for juvenile, senior, and disabled fishers only. Vance Creek Pond will re-open the fourth Saturday in April.
Other Information: Area open to fishing March 30 through April 7 in Vance Creek Pond #1 only. Vance Creek Pond #2 (Lake Inez), west of Pond #1, will remain closed until the regularly scheduled lowland trout opener on the last Saturday in April.
