NORTH: On Sept. 20, Stephine Matkin and her companion trolled with silver Kastmasters for one hour and caught two wipers, which were as large as 18 inches, and 10 sunfish. On Sept. 15, Park Manager Jonathan Hunt reported that anglers had caught 20 to 30 small bass in a single day. The best location was on the shallow north end.
On Sept. 17, Tom Ogden fly fished from a kick boat with two other anglers. In six hours, the group caught 38 tiger trout in the seven- to 18-inch range. They used sizes 6-8 soft hackle patterns on sinking line. Fishing was better after 10:30 a.m. Tom also reported that fishing was good for other anglers in watercraft, but that fishing was slow for shore anglers. On Sept. 22, Russ Stevens reported good fishing over the weekend. He was trolling with popgear and a worm or a Kastmaster. Terry Sanslow reported similarly good results with popgear and a worm. Terry caught a dozen tiger trout up to 15 inches.
