Fishing is very good. Trout are biting on PowerBait and flies near the surface. Try to suspend your bait about 8 to 18 inches under a bobber. Fly anglers should try using black or brown leech and traditional nymph patterns under an indicator. Anglers that have fished near the bottom have not had any success.
Mike Clark fished last weekend and reported good midmorning fishing for rainbow trout with a silver Li'l Jakes Spin-a-Lure, a silver Jakes Stream-a-Lure, and a silver and red Super Duper spinner. The fish were hitting the lures about 12 to 18 inches below the surface. They seemed to hit when the lure was being pulled back and was about 20 to 35 feet from the shore. Mike caught and released four fish in less than an hour once it heated up. Mike saw another angler who had phenomenal success during the morning using a spin casting rod outfitted with a fly and a bubble. That angler was using a smaller orange Pistol Petes dry fly off the end of a clear tapered bubble filled with water with about four to six feet of leader off the end of the bubble. He was using a very lightweight line and was casting far into the pond and then slowly retrieving.
