On Feb. 12, Joe Christensen reported 12-14 inches of ice. The shoreline was said to have melted and refrozen overnight. In four hours, Joe caught 12 cutthroats and three rainbows. All were under the slot limit (or close to it). Joe said the fishing was best in 4-6 feet of water. There were chubs in water deeper than 10 feet. The ice is reported as 12 inches thick. Afternoon anglers may find a gap between the shoreline and the ice pack. Depending on the day, there may be open water pockets near Madsen Bay. Almost all anglers continue to have best fishing in shallow water, less than 10 feet deep. Chub meat continues to be the best bait.
