fishing was good from boats and the shoreline. Many anglers are catching bass, bluegill and perch. DWR Conservation Outreach Manager Phil Douglass recently had a great day of fishing with his son and granddaughter. He said that when the wind died down, a large hatch of midges came on. The bluegills were biting, taking worms under a bobber and hare's ear nymphs behind a bubble. Phil was excited to be there when his granddaughter caught her very first fish! Many thanks to Phil for the report. To see photos from Phil's latest trip -- and other northern Utah fishing successes -- visit and like our new Facebook page. Although recent stormy weather slowed down the fishing at Mantua, there are warm days in the weekend forecast.
