Angling is restricted to artificial flies and lures in streams above tidewater, except the use of bait is allowed on the South Fork Coquille.
Fishing for smallmouth bass has been good in the mainstem and South Fork Coquille. Jigs, crawdad crankbaits, and nightcrawlers will all work to catch smallmouth bass.
Fishing for striped bass has started to slow down in the Coquille. A few striped bass are still being caught on crankbaits on the mainstem Coquille River near the town of Coquille and Arago Boat Ramp. Shad are being caught by anglers fishing shad darts near the town of Coquille.
Crabbing has been slow in the lower Coquille. It is still recommended you discard the crab viscera (guts/butter) before cooking.
