Fall Chinook fishing is fair to good on the Wilson River. The run is at its peak, and the North Coast rivers have been fishing really well this season, so it’s just a matter of hitting the right conditions and the right day. North Coast rivers jumped up about a foot and a half Sunday night. They are still on the way up and are predicted to peak early Wednesday morning, so the Wilson should be back in shape late this week. All of the usual techniques, such as bobber fishing, divers and bait, and back bouncing should be effective.
Due to a wetland restoration project between the tidewaters of the Trask and Wilson Rivers, public access to the Wilson River tidewater from the end of Goodspeed road is currently closed.
