The water elevation in the reservoir is about 90 feet below full pool at the moment and dropping slowly. Neither Thistle Creek nor Whitcomb boat ramp are usable to launch boats. Check the US Army Corps of Engineer’s website for more information.

Best bet for anglers without a boat is to drive to the top of the reservoir where Quartzville Creek enters the reservoir. Large trout will sometimes forage where the river brings in food swept down from upstream.

Trout is a good option for anglers this time of year. Look for them near ledges and drop-offs as well as near underwater structure such as submerged logs. Kokanee fishing is done for the season as the older, larger fish have moved up into the tributaries to spawn. The bag limit for kokanee is 25 fish per day in addition to the 5 trout daily limit.
