Lake Isabella opened back up for fishing on Wednesday and we expect the bite to be epic. There has been no fishing pressure on the lake for over two weeks. With the cooler evening temperatures and no pressure, fishing for all species should be excellent. Just before the closure bass were chewing well in 10 to 20-feet of water with Whopper Ploppers, Texas Rigs, Spinnerbaits, jigs and crankbaits. The Crappie action was solid near the dam with minijigs, flicker shad and live minnows. Boaters were trolling flicker shad and scoring trout in deeper water near dam. Catfish can be found throughout the lake with cutbait, Triple S Dip Bait, and frozen shad.
