Chinook fishing remains fair with a few fish being caught daily. Some of the early fish are starting to move into the river, and the more traditional fall run fish are just coming in.
Due to a below average forecast the bag limits for wild Chinook salmon have been reduced. See the Regulation Updates section above for details.
A few hatchery coho have been caught in the bay already and numbers should start to increase as we get further into September.
The wild coho fishery in Nehalem Bay opened Sept. 9. The fishery is open two days a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from Sept. 9 to Oct. 18. See the Regulation Updates section above for details. Hatchery coho are always open in the bay and this year will be the first return of wild broodstock origin hatchery adults.
