All the steelhead river in the Coquille Basin were blown out with the recent storms with the mainstem Coquille River reaching flood stage. There is more rain in the forecast which might be enough to keep the rivers a little higher than most anglers prefer. As the water levels drop, the North Fork Coquille River will become fishable first followed by the South Fork Coquille. Steelhead anglers were catching hatchery winter steelhead on the North Fork Coquille River at LaVerne Park and on the South Fork Coquille River from the town of Powers downstream
Trout fishing in closed in the rivers until May 22, 2024.
