Shirley at Burke's Market at Silver Springs (775-577-2750): Everyone has been pleased with the fishing out here.

One fisherman with minnows got into a school of Walleye on Saturday that were 17-21 inches.

The fishing has been good at Beach No. 7 and between Beach Nos. 4 and 6 for Catfish, Wipers, White Bass and Walleye.

There was a 7.75 pound Walleye reported but the fisherman would not tell us where he caught it.

Fly fishing club meets on Apr. 4

The Carson Fly Fishing Club will hold its regular club meeting on Wednesday evening, Apr. 4. The evening's guest speaker will be Chris Wharton of Stillwater Guide Service and he will give a program on the techniques for fishing local waters. That meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), located at 5665 Morgan Mill Road.
