Proposed trapping restrictions in Washoe County, a recommended payment of $10,000 to a farmer in Lincoln County for elk damage, and an upland game and waterfowl release plan are some of the items on which the Nevada Board of Wildlife Commissioners may take action when they meet June 22-23 in Elko.

The meetings begin at 8:00 a.m. each day at the Hilton Garden Inn, 3650 Idaho Street. The meetings are open to the public.

The commission will be taking a tour of several sites in Elko County on the afternoon of June 22 to assess fire damage and rehabilitation efforts.

During Friday's meeting, Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) game biologists will present informational reports on policies for managing American beaver, American black bear, and upland game.

Fisheries biologists will update the commission on recovery efforts for the Lahontan cutthroat trout.

The chief game warden, Rob Buonamici, will present a report on shed antlers.

Saturday's meeting opens with a public comment period followed by the review and possible approval of 2007 hunting seasons for upland game, rabbit, dove and crow, plus trapping seasons for furbearing mammals.

NDOW's Habitat Bureau will request approval of 29 projects using duck and upland game stamp funds.

Wildlife Commissioner Jim Jeffress will present an informational report on the Tag Allocation Application Hunt Committee.

The meeting agenda may be viewed at all NDOW offices and online at www.ndow.org.
