Anglers report great fishing for bass and trout from a boat or rocky shore between 11 a.m. and midday. Try using gold-, silver- or perch-colored Kastmasters; perch- and rainbow-colored crank baits; or gold lil jakes lures. The fish are staying near the shore. Most are 20 to 30 feet from the shore and start striking 15 to 20 feet from shore.
The water temperature is around 53??F near the boat docks. The water level is extremely low on the south and southeast sides and on the northern shore. On the east side, the water is low enough that you can walk along a small stream to get closer to the middle of the reservoir. You can still launch a boat or small watercraft from the boat ramp. Use extreme caution, though. You don't want to get stuck while trying to launch a larger boat. Remember: Fishing is prohibited along the sandy shore and within 300 feet of either side of the boat ramp and dock.
