Idaho Fish Report

Fishing varies from fair to hot, depending on the weather. During recent gill net surveys at Rockport, we caught some monster brown trout up to 26 inches as well as several large smallmouth bass. The smallmouth bass are starting to bite. Trolling from boats is producing the best. You'll find fish at about 15-20 feet deep. Remember to confirm that your vessel is free of invasive mussels before you launch. There are mussel self-certification forms at the top of the boat ramp if the entrance station is not staffed. You should be sure to thoroughly clean, drain and dry your boat after every outing, especially after boating on Lake Powell or Deer Creek. Many Thanks to Park Manager Joe Donnell for that report.
