The degraded water quality due to an algal bloom is slowly clearing up with water temperatures dipping into the 50s. Despite poor water quality, anglers are still having success catching trout from shore or from a boat. Anglers continue to find good numbers of fish over 18 inches and 2-3 pounds on average. Anglers wishing to target trout in these conditions should focus on using lures such as rooster-tails, spoons, or Rapalas. Anglers fishing from a boat could do well trolling flashers, spoons, and Rapalas, in shallower depths. Anglers that are fly fishing may have success stripping woolly bugger or leech patterns, or fishing balance leeches and midge patterns under an indicator. Bass fishing is slowing down, but some are still being caught on soft plastics and crankbaits. Perch fishing will remain slow due to the die off last year. Special Regulations: Anglers may keep 1 black bass and 1 wiper measuring a minimum of 15 inches.
