Lake of the Woods was stocked with rainbow trout for Fourth of July weekend. Many of the rainbow trout will seek colder water. Therefore, you will need to get your lures down to about 15 feet at the thermocline for best results. For recent updates on fishing, you can call the resort at 1-866-201-4194.
Fishing should be slow this week for hatchery rainbow trout due to very warm water temperatures. The lake is dominated by stunted yellow perch. Very small bait and hooks will catch these fish.
Surprisingly a few crappie are being caught from the lake. Bass fishing should be good especially around all the wood and docks along the lake.
