Local angler Tom Ogden recently fished East Canyon from a kick boat. He fished the south end of the reservoir near Spring Hollow from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. He used a medium (#3) sinking line with size 6-8 crystal buggers in black/red and olive/red and caught all rainbows from 12 to 15 inches long. The water temperature was 45-46??F and the water visibility was about six feet. The reservoir is 61-percent full and rising. There were a couple of boats on the water and about a dozen shore anglers. Park Ranger Kent Cummings also reported good fishing. If you're out on a boat, try using pop gear, Jakes, spoons, PowerBait and worms. If you're on the shore, it seems worms, marshmallows and PowerBait are working best. We planted 8,000 trout into East Canyon on Wednesday. Many thanks Chris Haramoto, Kent Cummings and Tom Ogden for the reports.
