On April 23, aquatics manager Paul Thompson submitted this report: I love spring fishing on the Weber! I've been out on the Weber about a half dozen times in the past six weeks, and I've caught plenty of fish on each trip. The Weber really offers some of the best river trout fishing, and the size of the fish rival any river in the state. I have managed to land a 20-inch or larger brown trout each outing this year. Today, I fished the Peterson reach and did very well in terms of numbers and size of brown trout. Most fish were in the 14- to 16-inch range, but four fish were 18-22 inches. All fish were in great condition. I typically nymph the Weber and today I was fishing a size #14 rainbow SOW with a #20 RSD and WD40 trailer nymph. There was no need to change flies as I landed over 20 fish and lost at least half that many.
